Billing FAQ
Short answers, consistent with the Refund and Cancellation Policy (https://iteradian.com/refunds) and the Terms of Service Sections 4 and 13. Where they differ, the policy and the Terms win.
Plans and payments
01How am I billed?
Paid Plans are billed in advance in US dollars, monthly or annually, through Stripe or through Paddle — checkout shows which. With Paddle, Paddle is our reseller and merchant of record: it adds the sales tax or VAT for your address and issues the invoice. Overage (requests above your Plan's allowance, if your Plan allows it) is billed after the period ends, up to your Plan's overage cap.
02How does annual billing work?
You pay for twelve months at once, at the annual price (by default ten months' price: two months free). The request allowance is still monthly: it resets at the start of each month of your billing year, and overage for a month is billed at the end of that month. The year renews automatically until you cancel.
03Can I switch between monthly and annual?
Monthly to annual: any time. Your billing year starts that day and you pay the annual price less a credit for the unused part of the current month. Annual to monthly: at the end of the billing year — cancel, then choose monthly billing when the year ends, or contact support.
04Where do I see my plan, next charge and usage?
Organization → Billing shows the Plan, the current billing period (start and end), the next charge (amount and date, or none if you have cancelled), how much of the period's included requests you have used, and the subscription status.
05Can I change plans?
Yes. Moving between paid Plans takes effect once the payment provider (Stripe or Paddle) confirms it and is prorated: an upgrade's difference is charged immediately; a downgrade's unused amount is credited to future invoices (not paid out). To move to the free Plan, cancel your subscription.
Cancelling
01Can I cancel at any time?
Yes — no notice period. Only the organization owner can cancel.
02What happens when I cancel?
Automatic renewal stops. You keep your Plan's access and limits until the end of the period you paid for; then the organization moves to the free Plan. Your data, keys and endpoints are kept.
03Do I still pay anything after cancelling?
No further subscription charges. Overage already incurred in the current period is still billed after the period ends — the cancel dialog shows how much so far.
04I cancelled by mistake.
Choose Keep subscription before the period ends. The same subscription continues; you are not charged twice.
05Do I get money back for the rest of the month (or year)?
No. Cancelling stops renewal; it does not refund unused time or requests, including the remaining months of an annual plan. See the introductory refund below for new customers.
Refunds
01Can I get a refund on my first purchase?
Yes, once: a full refund of your first paid subscription purchase, monthly or annual, if you ask within 14 days of paying and have used less than 10% of the requests included in the first month. The dashboard tells you, before you submit, whether you qualify and why not if you don't.
02What counts as 14 days and 10%?
14 days is measured from the moment the payment provider (Stripe or Paddle) confirmed your payment, up to exactly 14 × 24 hours. Usage is what our metering counted in the purchased period at the time you submit the request, compared with the Plan's included monthly requests; exactly 10% does not qualify.
03What happens to my account if the introductory refund is approved?
The refunded subscription ends immediately and the organization moves to the free Plan, with your data kept and free limits applied.
04Are renewals, overage or Dedicated plans refundable?
No — renewals, overage, add-ons and Dedicated/custom contracts are not covered by the introductory refund. Dedicated contracts follow their order form; talk to [email protected].
05I was charged twice / the service failed.
Use Report a duplicate charge or service failure on the Billing tab and pick the payment. Our billing team reviews it and can refund all or part of it.
06What about my legal rights?
Any refund or cancellation right the law gives you and that cannot be excluded by contract still applies. Choose "Refund required by law" when you submit.
07How long does a refund take?
We usually decide within 2 business days. Once approved, the provider that took the payment (Stripe or Paddle) returns the money to the original payment method; card refunds usually appear within 5–10 business days. The request shows "Refunded" only after the payment processor confirms it.
08Who can request a refund?
The organization owner. Owners and admins can see requests and their status.
